Dr. Stefan Lang
Stefan Lang MD, PhD, FRCSC is a Functional Neurosurgeon and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. His undergraduate degree was in Neuroscience and cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Guelph, followed by medical school at the University of Ottawa. He then spent time at the University of Calgary for neurosurgical training and a PhD in Neuroscience. Finally, he completed a fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto.

He is a member of the Djavad Mowafaghian Center for Brain Health, the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience.

Our clinical team consists of several highly trained Nurse Practitioners and administrative support. All clinical cases are reviewed in our multidisciplinary rounds with Dr. Stefan Lang and Dr. Chris Honey.



Danielle Pietramala
Clinical Research Coordinator
Danielle obtained a Bachelor of Science from UBC and coordinates a series of clinical trials for Dr. Honey which involves recruiting participants, managing ethics applications, and obtaining grant funding. Danielle also lends a hand to Dr. Honey’s neurosurgical fellows who are interested in conducting their own research projects.
Evan Wilson
Research Technician
Evan completed a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Guelph in 2024, specializing in Biomedical Engineering. He is now working as the Research Technician and Coordinator for Dr. Lang's Functional Neurosurgery Lab at VGH. Evan applies neuroimaging tools and analysis techniques to analyze DBS effects on brain networks.
